Reduction in quality- thin!
Quality has gone downhill. Just opened a fresh pack and they were VERY different than previous packs.
Meshe –
Handy for toddler art!
These work great for carrying with you for toddler art! They are small enough to fit a pack in your diaper bag with a few crayons.
mausmom –
Great value
Great value. Perfect for kids schoolwork.

Thin/Transparent
These are incredibly thin. If you’re using them to study for school, all the answers are visible on the opposite side. Not much thicker than a piece of paper. The positive reviews must be sponsored. This is another example of corporation “shrinkflation” the quality is no longer the same.
Anyon –
DO NOT BUY – Flimsy
I haven’t purchased index cards in awhile but these are AWFUL. They are barely thicker than a single piece of computer paper. So incredibly thin. What is the point?!
Mom –
Very thin
Very thin!! Tried to use these flash cards for my daughter to make multiplication tables and you can see the permanent marker through the paper making it pointless to write the answers on the back.

Loli M –
Great
Good quality notes for a great price especially for a student
MoonbeamS –
Good value
Great index cards for the price. A little thinner than other brands, but still work fine! If you like really sturdy cards, I would go name brand. Otherwise, these do the job!

Index cards to the rescue
With a child and Mom with ADHD these are mandatory for school and review. We love these, wish they were a little thicker so we could punch a hole and hang on a ring I have to laminate them to do so
djrebster –
These are super thin and see through when you write on them. Not great for flash cards. Photo is taken of the back side of the card. Completely see through.
Super thin and see through
AmyMc –
Flimsy
Not card stock. Very flimsy more like construction paper.
AMM –

Nice quality cards. My son loves to use the unlined cards to make small drawings

Flashcards
The cards are super thin. If you’re trying to make flash cards skip these as you can see through.
ANS –
Very thin
These are so thin, it’s like cut up paper instead of cardstock. I will not buy these again.
SMarie –
Paper Thin
Wow! These are so thin, they’re like paper. I could have taken card stock and cut my own and they would be thicker. The only good thing is they didn’t cost very much.
Anonymous –
Cheap and Thin
See-through and nearly paper thin. At least I learned my lesson for cheap.
Emily –
As Expected
Used these for a project. They were as expected.
Katie –
Too Thin
These are thinner than construction paper. I don’t know how these are even marketed as index cards. It’s basically cut up paper.
Jes –
Great Value & Quality
Excellent value for high quality cards. My son uses these to draw his own trading cards of Nintendo characters, Pokémon, etc.
AV –
Poor quality
These are almost as thin as paper. Definitely not sturdy like an index card should be.
Butterfly5499 –
Index Cards
Great index cards. Unruled with white cardstock paper. Clean edge cuts. Would buy again.
i love this stuff –
BRING THEM BACK!!!
I use Unruled 3×5 Index cards daily and I love them. I label things, I make my grocery and shopping lists, use them to organize my closet… These are a Daily use item and yet, suddenly, my local Target app tells me that my nearest store no longer sells them. WHY?!?!
BeautyandArt –
Too thin and cheap quality
This is definitely cheap quality index card. I loved the price but I’m so used to the thicker stock-card -like index cards that have a slight sheen. I guess I got what I paid for but oh well – it does the job for writing with ball point pen. I wouldn’t use markers or Sharpie felt pens on this. It’s too thin and feels like construction paper.
danny d –
Glorified Printer Paper
Very thin & low quality, but they get the job done. If you are looking to use markers, I would go for something more substantial. Can’t beat the price though.
Alex H –
Did the job
Did the job just what I needed. I liked not having lines made it easy to write the size I needed
LL –
Great product
Love using these index cards. They’re durable and easy to write on. I like the blank ones instead of the lined ones.
Maria K –
Too thin/delicate
Very thin, floppy, poor quality paper

Up & Up Unruled Index Cards.
Speaking for myself, the ruled index cards are better and easier to use than unruled. These cards are not as thick as other ones.

Teachers Best Friend
As a teacher, I go through so many index cards. Great quality!
JenMomof2 –
Great flash cards.
Great for flash cards or writing quick to do lists. We use them all the time for school and lists.
Janet –
Way too thin.
These are essentially 3×5 pieces of regular paper. Not the weight of a normal index card. Worthless To make flash cards because you can see right through them. I will never waste my money on these again.
KatieO –
Great!
Great quality at a great price!
OnTarget –
Good quality and price
I am using these to make flashcards and was concerned with some reviews saying these cards are thin. I don’t find that to be the case. The price couldn’t be better, almost half the price of the cards at our local grocery store.
Mary D –
EH
they are see through so you can not even study correctly with them

Terrible quality! So thin it is see through.
Quality is terrible! So thin
Katieschaefer –

100 is a lot. You’ll never run out
Michelle –
Low Quality
Super thin. Can see right through. Almost like a sheet of computer paper.
Jean R –
See Through
Very thin, you can see right through the card, so if you’re planning on using as flash cards the other side can be seen. I had to glue two cards together to use
chelsealynne13 –
READ RIGHT THROUGH – SO THIN
Don’t use these as flashcards because you can read right through them. TERRIBLE
Jcivyw –
See through
These are transparent. Not helpful when you can see through them. I used crayon and did not push hard. Also see through using a yellow crayon. No way you could get away with using a marker or a sharpie. Do not buy.
Noodle –
Great for college studies
Love these unruled cards.
Mimi –
Priced right
Who doesn’t need a card to write a list or note on? Theses are priced right.
mackenzie –
SUPER THIN. TOO THIN.
Zero Stars. super super thin. no matter if you use a pen or marker you can see through it. no really good when trying to studying things.
TMH7 –
Way too thin – can see through
As others have mentioned, you can see through these. They’re completely useless as flash cards. Waste of money
Bnut –
Not to think, not to thin
Use these for prep notes and grocery lists ! Good value !
So soft and comfy –
Note cards 🙂
Good sturdy note cards for a low price!

Uselessly Thin for Students
These are impossibly thin. Don’t bother if the hope is to use them as flashcards! Goodness, what were they thinking?! The other photos showing this issue are accurate.
ABCubed –
These aren’t your grandma’s index cards
These aren’t the thick, pulpy, easily torn index cards of old. They are slick, smooth, strong, thin, and sharply edged. They work well for me, and this is a great price.

Index cards
good size and price.I would buy again.
SVS1234 –
Too Thin
The cards overall does the job BUT they are soooooo thin… if you write with pen you can see right through on the other side, makes it really hard to study properly without “cheating” by seeing what’s in the back…
AL –
Flimsy
Not sturdy for repeated use
D Pardiwala –
good cards
These cards are good for quick doodles, drawing, and notes. One great thing about these cards is no lines! Yes, they are actually blank on both sides.

Nice
For school for my daughter
Bjb –
No thanks
So thin and flimsy! Just use notebook paper
Chef in kitchen –
Flashy
Great size to make flash cards with for kids!
Mymymila –
Very thin and floppy
Very flimsy. Learned my lesson and would not buy again.
Anonymous –
Avoid these. Go w/name brand
These are too flimsy for any purpose. I could have just cut regular paper to size. It takes two together to even feel close to what an index card should be. Avoid these and stick with name brand.
Inanilangdalawa –
Sight words card
Using it for sight words learning! I wish it’s more thicker!
Mae –
Flimsy
These are paper thin. Totally transparent and very flimsy, like a cut up sheet of paper.
ST –
Great!
Great to make into flash cards for my daughter. She also loves making them into bookmarks!
Lauren –
Perfect!
Perfect size and thick cards.
Sandy –
Thinner than expected
These definitely did not come off the same manufacturing line as the brand name index cards. They are construction paper thin and if you write on them with a sharpie it shows through the other side. Better to use with a pencil probably.
NJ mom –
Thin cards
These are not on card stock. They are very thin. I was going to use them as flashcards for my kids and then put rubber bands around the sets of math facts if they knew but a rubber band would destroy these cards.
addie –
the best and cheapest blank index cards
MamanJonah –
Good value
The right price for the item! Perfect for writing out phonics cards for my kindergartener!
MB –
THIN – barely thicker than paper.
NG –
Very thin and you can see the writing from the other side. Spend a little more for name brand, much better quality
Anonymous –
thin
I purchased these cards to use as flashcards. However they are very thin. I started with using a Sharpie, then a bold pen, then a regular pen, then finally a pencil. I could see the writing through the other side for all of them. These are worthless.
Classicarah –
Eh
I’m doing online learning for my daughter and she needed this for sight words. Pretty flimsy actually,I had cut a paper into 4’s before this and they actually feel the same!works for now I guess.
Anonymous –
Quality feels like name brand.
Will –
Very Thin
I could have taken copy paper and cut it into cards. VERY thin cards. I wanted something more durable. you get what you pay for.
LisN –
Perfect for studying.

Great Index cards at a GREAT price!
I love these cards! High quality! Sturdy durable cards. I have always used index cards when studying. The unruled cards are my favorite. I write the question on one side. The answer on the back. It’s a great way to study. You can stick a stack of these cards in your pocket to study anywhere. Bring them to work with you. At lunch or break time pull the stack out of your pocket and you’ve got an instant way to do some extra studying! I highly recommend these cards. The same type of cards are twice as expensive everywhere else. Thanks Target for the studying help!
Selina –
Perfect index cards
These index cards were perfect for diy flash cards. I will definitely buy again.
Sandybeaches –
Very thin but effective.
Tessie –
Great cards
Sturdy cards and just what we needed at a great price
customer –
These were flimsier than typical index cards, and they were also a bit more transparent.
yeschick –
flimsy
very thin – not at all what I expect an index card to be.
Roxi –
It worked for what I needed
woofie8 –
used to list paintings in a show – worked great! glad some come without lines!!
Marty –
Surprise
I really prefer to use un ruled index cards. After I ordered several items online I found the cards were unavailable at that time for store pickup. To my pleasant surprise they were shipped to me at no extra cost. Way to go!
Chaidez –
Sustainable index cards
These are inexpensive and we always need index cards
Mauikat –
What to say about an Index card?
My daughter needed help with her vocabulary words. I made her flash cards. They worked!
dd in OC –
Flimsy, undersized
These cards are very economical, and while they might be fine for some uses, they are not suitable for mine. First, they are not 3 inches tall. Instead they are undersized by a full 1/8 inch, so they will not match up with other cards already in use. They are very lightweight and flimsy which means they won’t hold up well with frequent use, and anything printed on one side easily shows through to the other side. The surface is rough and doesn’t take toner well. I will be returning them and getting cards elsewhere.

These cards are too thin! I definitely wouldn’t use them for recipe cards!

Target reviewer
The unruled index cards were a great buy on sale! We are very pleased with the quality especially given the price!
Sean A –
Its Worth Buying!
Its good in quality & the price is best! I searched in most of the stores, yet did not find a price that matched the price of these cards anywhere else. So, its worth buying!
Amber B R –
Great for studying!
I love these flash cards. They are great for when I’m studying. I also like to cut them in half sometimes to make them into even smaller flash cards!
Ashley –
Pass
Love the price but did not like how thin the cards were. I wanted to make color flash cards for my daughter using 3D puff paint but these cards cannot stand up for the job.
