Great vintage look, but very hot
Love the warm vintage like glow! I’m so impressed with these lights however, head my warning…the run very hot. I would advise against using them indoors. I find them only suitable for outdoor use because of how hot they run. Just a heads up, you do need to individually screw in the bulbs.
Britashton09 –
Burned out after a week
Burned out after having them hung outside for two weeks. Super disappointed since they are the perfect color and size. I don’t recommend using them outside
Robertsjs –
Great clips and thick cord yet wishes more colors
These lights are well spaced and bright, reminding me of Christmases past, but I wish there was one more color to the bunch. The cord is thick and draped well over the sleigh without added ties or wires

TOO HOT!
TOO HOT!! This bad boy was plugged in and immediately 100 degrees! They are nice and bright, but I bought them to do a photoshoot with my kiddos and that was a no-go since they would have been burned if they so much as touched a bulb!
maggie –
perfect glow, but WAY too hot
LOVE the way these look but they get so hot that i’m afraid to use them so they’ve sat in storage for a couple years. bulbs burn out easy, too. such a shame!
Bk –
Cheaply made
They don’t work, I put the bulbs in and 3 weren’t working. As I tried to fix one they all stopped working.
HV –
Great lights
The lights are awesome, it comes with extra ones in case any light bulbs burns out. They don’t get hot and I think are pretty great.
AshMartin –
DANGEROUS – DO NOT BUY
Wasted my time screwing all the bulbs in to find out they are a straight up fire hazard… the heat that came from these were unreal… I unplugged them immdiately and shoved them back in the box, I got them for super cheap and now I know why… no point in returning for 5 bucks and quite frankly wouldnt want anyone else getting their hands on these. Really scary. If not for the heat these would be really beautfiul lights.
catmom –
Unsafe
Wish I saw the reviews before buying these. They get dangerously hot within seconds of plugging them in. Maybe the older versions were better, but these ones are not safe indoors or outdoors.
MB –
Looks nice but seems dangerous
They are nice, vintage looking lights. A couple of issues though. First is that they are so delicate, I broke a bulb taking it out of the box and there aren’t any spares. Second, they get hot immediately. Within seconds of plugging it in. So not sure how safe they are.
Xmaslights –
Fire hazard
This item gets dangerously hot to the touch after only seconds of being plugged in. Will definitely start a fire
Brittany –
?
Why would they not give extra bulbs
Swillis –
Awful
What everyone else is saying…I had them allllllll over my house (outside)…. Worked allllll day…. To only have lights for maybe a hour. I’ve changed fuses Clark Griswold style day after day. Now I have to go Grinch and pull them all down. Never have I ever bought a worse set of lights. DO NOT BUY THESE! Very appealing, but awful and a waste of your time!
tgonz13 –
Fuse,and cheaply made.
Love the brightness and color. Can’t have more than 3 plugged into on outlet, fuse constantly goes out. Returning item.
KT724 –
Dangerously hot
I bought 7 packs of these. You have to screw in each individual bulb which is kind of annoying. I began decorating and after only a few minutes of being plugged in, they felt dangerously hot. I continued wrapping my tree but after 15 minutes they all shut off. I went to unplug them and the plugs were also very hot. These are definitely a safety hazard and should be recalled.

Old fashioned lights
These are glass and incandescent, so they are fragile and they do get warm. They look great for a more classic Christmas vibe and really stand out from LEDs. I had a couple of bulbs with bad manufacturing that I couldn’t use (they were crooked and couldn’t be screwed in), but otherwise these are pretty okay for cheap lights.
BestReviewerEver –
Great Vintage Look, Not For Everyone
These are incandescent glass lights. They get warm so they shouldn’t rest directly on a surface but they’re beautiful. We’ve had ours for several years and have never had an issue. We keep replacement bulbs on hand (because they do burn out occasionally).
Nice and Bright –
Nice and bright
The lights are gorgeous. Only “negative” thing is they’re about 2 feet shorter than normal lights, so I had to buy an extra box to cover the entire area.

Do not buy
Wanted to do vintage lights this year for something different since I usually do classic white – never again. I bought 5 sets and connected them all on the indoor Christmas tree – had them up for a day and the bottom set stopped working completely. Never had lights just die after one use, figured maybe just a bad wiring so I returned them and bought a new one. I connected the new set to the existing lights on the tree – a day later the bottom two sets of lights stopped working after a day (including the brand new one I just bought) I googled it and read that some light sets can’t handle the voltage when they’re all connected together so they blow fuses easily. Now I have to return two more sets and get new ones and use another extension cord to maybe break up the lights on the tree so they can handle the voltage. Also they get extremely hot. Abnormally hot.
Matt –
So far so good
I have read several reviews and I have not had the same experience- they look good, I don’t think they are overly hot? It’s been 2 weeks I guess we’ll see
Bullseye Shopper –
Not a fan
Not really a fan of these. Can’t plug more then 2 set into each other unless you want to change fuses constantly, so with that being said I wouldn’t use these outdoors on your house.
Jgarcia27 –
Dont waste your money
Fuse burnt out the second day so we replaced the fuse and it burnt out again inless than 24 hours
Great vintage lights –
Perfect Vintage lights
Ok, so these are vintage style incandescent lights. So yes, they get hot. I’m not actually sure what people think these lights are going to be, It clearly states on the box. They are lovely with a warm glow. So much prettier than LED or any of those ugly bright white lights people seem to love. Super hard to find these days so please dont stop stocking these!
Kylieg –
Lights don’t stay lit and the ones that do are HOT
These are very cheaply made, the last 1/3 of my string don’t light up any more even when replacing the bulbs… also they are EXTREMELY hot… definitely not safe to put on a tree, questionable for all other purposes.

Glass ornaments, not labeled as glass on the box
Glass! Nowhere on the outside of the box does it say, GLASS ornaments. Bought these for my kids trees and a bulb shattered when it hit the floor. They also get hot as soon as you plug them in.
cstreight –
Too hot!!
Do not get these!!! They get WAY too hot within just a few minutes! We’re returning immediately.

Vintage Lights
These lights are perfect for a vintage Christmas light look! They have a nice and warm tone. They do get a bit hot, but they’re fine outside in cold weather.
gs420 –
Too hot.
They get way too hot. Nervous to even use them.
Ash –
If you’d like to see your tree lit on fire…
Absolute fire hazard with how hot the bulbs get
TargetShopper –
Burned my desk!
These lights are way too hot. They left (big) marks on my desk (looks like bleach marks in the pics). Possible fire hazard if left plugged in. Zero stars…do better Target.
Alyssa B –
Fire hazard
These got way too hot. Dangerous!
Nayna –
Hot!
These lights started getting hot immediately after turning them on. Should not be allowed to be sold.
Myleaba –
Fuses burn, can plug more than 3 strings together.
You can’t string more than 3 together before the fuses burn. Such a waste of money. They are all going back.
Kristina –
Doesn’t Last
I loved these string lights at first but unfortunately they just do not last. Had them for about 2 weeks and the lights started to burn out. Tried to adjust a burnt out bulb and it sparked and short circuited a fuse, now the whole string doesn’t work. Just not at all worth the $10-$20 (depending on how many sets you buy)
Jess –
Junk
Blew both fuses immediately. Could have been user error but this isn’t my first Christmas light experience so I’m doubtful.
ARealOne –
Left a mark
I should’ve read the reviews first, the bulbs are indeed way too hot. Left scorch marks on the wall around several bulbs.
BL –
Old school
Gives a great “old school” Christmas light glow
Flower –
Light up my world
I loved how bright they were
MarkTheBeardedGinger –
Buy them if you like a vintage look. Don’t pay attention to the haters.
These lights are fine. Of course they may get hot but they’re not LEDs so they will. They’re vintage style bulbs and they do that. Packaging the bulbs separately is nice to avoid breakage. Put them on my artificial tree and while the bulbs are a little hot the tree is perfectly fine. The price is great for the amount of bulbs you get! I love these!
Lights –
Fire hazard!!
Way too hot would be a major fire hazard no matter where you use them. They get hot almost immediately, after less than 5 minutes they are too hot to touch, would definitely cause a fire quickly. đźš«đźš«đźš«
Taddoni –
My mistake for purchasing
Three strands have been up for two days and seven bulbs are out. Makes sense that they’re cheap.
Longwalksintarget –
Unsafe
These get extremely hot! I took the temperature of the lights and it was over 151 degrees Fahrenheit after being plugged in for less than ten minutes. I worry these are unsafe.
Sf03 –
Helpful Clips!
I didn’t notice at first but there are little clips on each light! That’s great since there isn’t always something near an outlet to string lights on. I feel like the bulbs got warm a little quick but we usually don’t do outdoor lights so it might be totally normal. I like the size of the bulbs!
RamFam –
Attention! Don’t ignore the warnings. They are a Fire HAZARD!
I bought these lights before reading the reviews. I started to put them on my fake tree and boy they got hot quick. It felt very unsafe so I took them off. I will definitely return them. Honestly they shouldn’t be sold in the store at all.
LeighZ –
Too hot!
These get extremely hot. I can feel it from a foot away
Christyjk –
Awesome lights
I’m honestly not sure why there are so many bad reviews. We’ve had these on our house for 3 or 4 years in a row and they’ve been awesome. True vintage look and they’ve lasted great – we usually have to get one new strand or a couple new bulbs per year – totally worth the price.
Jay0528 –
Very cool Christmas lights
These are the best Christmas lights. I love how they can be used indoor or outdoor. They are easy to decorate with and look very pretty. I love the bigger colorful bulbs because you can still see them during the day as well.
Michelle M –
DO NOT BUY THEM!!!!! SAVE YOURSELF.
I am a fool for not reading the reviews before purchasing these lights. I Purchased nine boxes of these and my husband worked so hard for about six hours to put them around the roof of our 2 story house. Although he tested the strings before hand, these poorly constructed lights ended up having a burnt fuse within 10 seconds of being turned on. DO NOT BUY.
GE1245 –
DO NOT BUY
DO NOT BUY. They get dangerously hot very quickly after being plugged in. They should not be left unattended and even then, I would not recommend using these.

Favorite Vintage Style Lights
Love these lights! They add a vintage look and feel to my holiday decor and you can’t beat the price. We used them on one of our trees (a real one) and they were perfect! They do get warm/hot when left on, but I never had any issues with them. They remind me of the lights my grandparents used to put on their trees when I was little and that’s exactly what I was looking for. If you’re looking for vintage style lights, these are perfect and the price is even better!

Lights Burnt Wall
These lights are adorable at first…but they burn so hot that they caused burn marks all over the wall. These should honestly be recalled; they are not safe for indoor use and could have started a fire.
Hannah7 –
fire waiting to happen
The lights burn so hot that half of them went out within days of purchase. They could seriously start a fire.
Klsvb –
Buyer beware
Yikes, these lights are terrible. Not only do you have to put them together yourself by putting the light bulbs on but they get way too hot. They actually burned through something they were near. Can’t imagine the outcome of putting them on a tree.
QueenDarkness –
Dont waste your money on these
Really wanted to like these but only thing I liked was the price…. So many bulbs blew after being up less than a week, very disappointing.
Kissykakes –
Cheap
They get hot to touch and are super delicate a few broke
M –
Good quality. But hidden inflation.
Last year this item was 25’ long. Now it’s 20’. They’ve reduced the quantity of the product and increased the price. Industry standard is 25’. Other bug box stores increased the price of C9’s. But they didn’t hide the inflation.
Gertbird –
Caution – HOT!
First, the lights came separate from the cord and you had to screw all the bulbs in. Once plugged in, the lights got dangerously hot very fast – I had planned to use the lights in a very large houseplant as a replacement for a Christmas tree, after being lit for 30 minutes the bulbs burned my plant. Fire hazard!
JLC –
Excellent Lights
As to the other negative reviews, have you ever used this style of lights before? They are small incadscent bulbs. They are made of glass and they get hot. You cannot chain more than three of them together like you can with LED bulbs because they pull way more wattage. That is how they are SUPPOSED to operate. Do NOT put them on/near anything flammable. As to the lights themselves, excellent vintage glow. Just like the old school lights I remember. These are getting hard to find! Long term durability and quality is TBD. For $10 per strand I’m happy.
Matt –
True vintage look
Went with a classic look this year and these strings really nailed it. Been using these for a few days now without any issues. It had less lights than a standard 25ct string but you couldnt beat the price despite less bulbs.
mamagates –
Terrible quality
If you touch one of these lights, they go out. They didn’t even last a week and surely didn’t last through the holidays. I was super disappointed in these, but ended up just throwing them away once the holidays were over because they weren’t going to make it to the next Christmas. Super bummed and a complete waste of money.

Way too Hot
There is no possible way that these lights are not a hazzard. I bought two boxes and I am fearful to put them on the tree or outside.
krystalgail –
they run HOT!!
Bought these for my tree (fake tree), they run HOT, makes me worried they could catch on fire, will be returning asap. I do love the vintage design though!
Molly –
These lights murdered my xmas spirit
5 feet shorter and a dollar more expensive than last year’s, which at least lasted through the season. 5 of the 6 boxes I bought of these DID NOT WORK at all— completely unlit when I unpackaged them and plugged them in. The 6th box had several dud bulbs. Good heavens Target…you can do better than this.
Cat54 –
FIRE HAZARD!
These lights are a fire hazard! They run really really hot. DO NOT PURCHASE. I am not using mine , I feel they are unsafe inside or out.
