This is fantastic. Are there a lot of bits to adjust? Yes. Does it take a few minutes to get it dialed in? Yes. But once you lock in the adjustments, they stay locked in and you can plow through the cabinets without thinking. On drawers, you mark the center and line this up, on doors there is a stop at the end so you don’t even need a measuring tape. Theis also comes with two “okay” drill bits. They are nothing special, but work well enough. My only tip for setup would be to initially use a pencil and masking tape before you drill holes. My wife is a bit OCD, which means I had to be a bit OCD setting this up, so it took a minute or two nudging parts a 1/16″ here, a 1/32″ there to get it all centered up.Overall, no complaints. The drill bits are just okay, but that doesn’t really bother me as that’s not why I bought this jig. All I know is in an hour or two I knocked out half of my kitchen hardware and didn’t make a single mistake. that makes this an easy 5 stars for me.

I absolutely appreciate the quality of this cabinet hardware jig. It is very well-made. I could have used these a few months ago when I installed new hardware on my kitchen cabinets. That turned into a disaster. I learned my lesson and will always use a hardware jig from now on. The precision of the hardware jig is great. It is easy to slide it together for assembly and stores in a convenient zip pouch. Note, you will need to disassemble the jig to store it in the pouch, but that is easily done. My issue was with regard to a desk that was already assembled and trying to get the jig to stay in place on the drawer. Due to the shallow depth of the drawer front I had to turn my jig around so that the holes were lower and not bumping into the top hardware brace. This was easily accomplished. However, the brace would not stay on the drawer and would slide off. It turned into quite the balancing act and I was starting to wonder if I was on a comedy hidden camera program. With the addition of some clamps, the end result was successful. I had no trouble with it on my bathroom vanity doors. I will definitely be using this on my next hardware project.

Out of the package, this appeared to be a beautifully manufactured precision tool. Unfortunately, that was not the case. Even setting up the tool was a chore. I spent about 20 minutes trying to get alignment of the limiter to the base ruler. No matter how I tightened the holding thumb screw, it would show about 1/16″ off from one side to the other, (across the limiter which is about 4 inches wide). It seems there is maybe too much space between pieces and when tightened the pieces can pitch slightly in one direction or another. This was also true when using the centering notch on the limiter. You would think it is centered when the Double Scale Ruler (the vertical piece) is centered on the Stainless Steel Ruler (the horizontal base), but that is not the case. Once the limiter is tightened with the thumb screw, it moves about 1/16″ to one side, which becomes 1/8″ when you measure against the two guide holes you set on the base. Lastly, you have to continually check the tightness of the various pieces to each other. They loosen easily with the slighted tap or vibration from your drill. In the end, I was glad I had a tool to do the 20+ cabinet doors and 15+ drawers, but I would find a better version next time. This one did not provide the confidence you want in a precision tool for a job where you can’t afford to make an error.

Upfront disclosure: I received this item for review through the Amazon Vine program for review.Cabinets require precision in general. Mounting doors, drilling shelf holes, fitting panels, even mounting hardware all require precise drilled holes to mount each piece. If you are good about your measurements and markings you can get these done with a ruler and a pencil, or by using masking tape to create a template that can stick where you want it. The problem is, if you make a single error you will have issues with assembly, leveling, and so much more. Enter this Jig. It is flexible in the way you can orient it (it is not flexible material, which is an important distinction). With this you can precisely place a hole jig exactly where you want it, every time. As someone who has an old house with a lot of cabinets that occasionally need work, having this in my collection of tools is a blessing for sure. It is a bit special in application but completely worth it if you do DIY cabinet work. Highly recommended.

Holes were crooked. Now we must replace the door!

We were pretty disappointed with this tool. After you set the measurements and secure it still move/roll. It messed up first and second drawer. We had to buy a different brand.

This makes drilling holes for handles and pulls so much easier. No more measuring, using squares and rulers, and best of all it helps prevent making mistakes. You can set it and repeat the measurement many times over. This is really helpful when you have lots of pulls or handles to install. There is a case that comes with this tool that holds the parts. It is simple to assemble and set to your measurement. The tool has scales in imperial and metric systems. Adjustments are made using a thumb screw or set screw. There is an included wrench for tightening the set screw when needed. There are multiple drill guides so drilling multiple holes for handles is easy. The tool can also have more than one setup making switching between drawer handles and door pulls able to be done without changing the tool setup. Compared to my old method, this tool is way faster.

I generally really like this jig. It’s easily adjustable and easy to set up wherever you need it. My one complaint is that the horizontal bar could be a bit longer as it’s difficult to use the edge stop (on the horizontal bar) when you have a wide drawer. I ended up not being able to use it because the drawers I was using it on were too wide to allow centering of the handles & using the edge stop. All the adjustments are decently tight & don’t move once set. It doesn’t quite do as well on a curved edge board, but a clamp can solve that. Otherwise it’s a handy little jig if you have lots of handles to install!

the cabinet hardware jig is very easy to put together and use. the rulers are really sturdy and nice quality. this helped me place the hardware on a cabinet I was restoring. prior to this jig, I used rulers and t-squares, and had to make more markings to get it right. with the jig I didn’t have to do that and I liked that.my only Con with this set is that the little knobs/tighteners that hold the rulers in place aren’t good quality. they’re VERY prone to coming loose. I had to re-tighten and adjust several times, which slowed down my work. had this not been an issue, I would have given this jig a five-star rating.

Update: the seller reached out and offered to send a replacement. The 2nd jig does not have flaws like the 1st. Upgraded to 4 stars.Original review: This is better than manually measuring and marking each handle, but it lacks precision. One of the drill guides has a crooked centerline which makes setting it up accurately more work than it should be. I was expecting a purpose built jig to be more accurate.

Calling this a jig may be stretch, a drilling guide at best but still much better than the plastic ones. Jig is perfect on flat face drawers. However on out cabinet doors with ounded edges/stiles which locating and clamping the jig was a bit more difficult. Still a useful tool to simplify cabinet work /renovations

Good quality product. Decent accuracy. It’s a little bulky but once you set it up it’s very easy to drill the holes for handles. 2 extra drill bits are also a good addition to the product.

I was expecting cheap pot metal, painted marks, and flimsy construction when I ordered this, based on its pricing.I was dead wrong. It is extremely well made from quality material. I would put this jig in line with some of the best jigs available out there in terms of manufacturing quality and design. The aluminum is strong, well machined and finished, the letters are appropriately engraved and enameled. The finishes look and feel durable and beautiful. They slide and adjust smoothly. The arrangement of the various jig pieces is almost too accomodating in that there are so many different ways to set it up.The included bits and the bag are an added bonus. I cant wait to use these to drill my custom cabinets when I redo my kitchen.

If you are like me and just learning to perfectly align knobs and handles on cabinets then this is perfect for you. It took me a while to get it figured out (the ole man had to help of course) but once i had it “set” right it was quite easy to take it off and slip it on the next cabinet and drill away!! But if you are like the ole man you probably dont need this to accurately put knobs and handles on and personally I think its easier to not use the jog and just mark it with a tape measure and drill this leaves more room for simple mistakes but the jig does what it is supposed to do so no stars deducted for anything but me having a hard time figuring it out in the beginning

I recently did a kitchen makeover and wanted to install new pulls. I went from a single hole to a double hole. It was super easy to use and set up. Sorry I didn’t remember to get a pic while using it but as you can see from the finished product it worked great. A MUST get if installing new pulls or handles that require new holes. It will make your job a lot easier. It also comes with drill bits.

This thing is pretty handy to have if you are doing a lot of cabinet doors. The cabinet hardware tool is accurate, and easy to operate. It will save you time with the L-Bracket and top screws staying in place, just set it up use and repeat. The construction of this thing is impressive, mainly metal construction with some plastic pieces. It is very sturdy and measures in both inches and millimeters. Basically if you have a large kitchen to do with use and repeat doors and pulls, this is a very convenient tool to have on hand.

I love the look and feel of these laser etched jigs almost as much as I love their function. This is advertised as a cabinet handle jig — and it’s perfectly suited to that job — but I’ve already found quite a few uses for it in making precision spaced holes in stock. Most recently, it was drilling out holes to make my own shelf pin jig, so in a roundabout way this cabinet hardware jig is already paying for itself!

I used this to put handles on the doors of my cabinet and it worked wonders. All you have to do is set the height and width to the length of the knob and the placement where you wanted to be and the drill your holes. It saved me a lot of time and it took out all of the guesswork in getting these handles placed on the cabinets. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who was doing any cabinet work or putting it worked are putting your changing out the knobs

My husband liked that it’s not plastic; it’s aluminum, but still very sturdy. Our drawers are nice and wide, so he just found the center by measuring and dividing the length, then width, and then centering from the middle point. It gave great results so that the placement of all the hardware is consistent and professional-looking. It made the job much easier than if we didn’t have this jig. He would recommend it to anyone looking for a cabinet hardware jig.

I work commercial construction mainly residential multi family homes and when we do 42 kitchens in a row in a building and you have to drill all the cabinet pools indoor poles a jig like this is a must you’d go crazy measuring out and lining up with a tape measure especially on darker wood this is solid easy to assemble easy to set and holds well for accuracy highly recommended for production work

I should have gotten one of these way sooner! The repeatability and accuracy is far better than trying to clamp a pre-drilled scrap 1x over and over again. The setup is also pretty easy, and it is quickly adjustable. The tool is solid in hand, but not overly heavy. Last, this comes with a nice pouch to keep everything in, which I thought was a nice inclusion.

I must admit I wish I had one of these when I was installing some 150+ cabinet door handles and drawer pulls in my whole house remodel. I was too cheap to fork out the cash for what the brand makers of this jig were asking. Since I have a couple more cabinets to do and Amazon Vine popped it into my available-to-review, I thought I’d give it a shot.Out of the box you get a nice vinyl zip-up bag for storage, although after assembly, the jig won’t go back in unless disassembled. I’ll probably just hang the jig on the shop wall and use the bag for something else. The double 8″ horizontal scale came with a plastic sleeve to prevent movement from marring the numbers. Included are a couple metric sized drills and an Allen wrench. More on the Allen wrench and the numbers later. All of it was placed in a bubble wrap bag and slipped into a sturdy cardboard box. The seller shipped within 2 days, so for packaging (one exception: missing setscrew) and delivery, check the boxes. The instructions are extremely sparse; there’s a few pictures showing it in use with limited text to explain anything. You better know how to use one of these; but, if you’re a cabinet maker you’ll not have a problem by intuition. Going to the Amazon item does provide a lot of detail information on it. As for assembly, there is a very clear picture on how to put it together. It’s just a matter of sliding the two scales into each other and sliding on the movable limiter on the vertical scale; the horizontal stops were already in place. So assembly, check. As for fit and finish, I have a couple minor issues. First, the horizontal scale tick marks towards the both ends of either scale (metric/imperial) are slightly slanted. So, given a spacing spec by your hardware, and using a tick mark to set the drilling guides, you’d find yourself off a minute amount; yet not enough to cause a problem with installing the hardware. There should be enough space around the screw to accommodate the potential spacing error. See the photos(metric and imperial); the metric edge seems to be less pronounced. It appears the printing had trouble with the sloping rule. The numbers and tick marks are merely painted on, not etched in, so with rough usage and bad storage you’d begin to get some flaking. For a jig like this, I would expect better quality there. Second, the stops have a sleeve for you to drill through to position the screw hole using the provided 4 & 4.5mm drill bits; the sleeve’s hole is a full 5mm in diameter. You’d think that an issue of too much slop, but the real issue is dependent on your hardware. Screws for handles and knobs usually run from 5/32″(~4mm) to 3/16″(~4.8mm). So, pairing the smallest screw with the 5mm whole could create excessive slop which would jeopardize the alignment. However, don’t let me over-emphasize or make a mountain out of a molehill; just be aware that the sleeve is 5mm in diameter so use an appropriate sized drill for your hardware. Which brings me to the Allen wrench, nowhere in the documentation does it get mentioned but looking over the tool you can see where it might be used. Those sleeves that create the hole you drill through are all held in place by an Allen headed setscrew. It begs the question: are there replacement sleeves of different IDs? Why provide an Allen wrench for these setscrews, possibly if they loosen with use? However, the movable limiter on the vertical rule was tapped for a setscrew to lock the fence in but none was installed; all the pictures I’ve seen had one. The knurled nut should be strong enough to hold the setting. And, keeping track of that little Allen wrench would be a nuisance (on board storage might have helped). Finally, it’s all metal, no plastic parts so it will be durable. Everything is painted a matt black with crisp white lettering, so visibility is great, barring the accuracy issue of slanted tick marks above. By the way, if you look closely the tick marks are fine up to 3 inches away from the center on both sides. As for usage, nothing could be simpler. For a drawer, I just install the target handle as an alignment pull in the tool to set the holes’ distance apart; one on each side of the vertical rule (see the picture). Then you slide both stops (which are now a unit) so that the mid-point of your handle is at zero on the horizontal scale(In my case 1 1/2″ on either side). Next, you set the edge stop (stop with the fence) 1/2 the width of your drawer face. Alternatively, you can set the notch in the moveable limiter’s fence on you drawer face center line than slide the edge stop to the edge of the drawer face. If used repeatedly, make sure all the drawers in your stack are the same width. If you have a drawer wider than 16″ and are installing only one drawer pull, this jig is not for you. (There’s a work around but you lose the convenience of the zero point on the horizontal scale, in my case the center of a 29″ drawer face.) If you are installing more than one pull, you’ll just remove the edge stop and install on the opposite side the same distance away from the edge. The vertical height is set by sliding the movable limiter to 1/2 (usually) the height of your drawer face. Finally, remove the alignment pull, clamp everything down and your ready to drill. In my pictured example, I am installing a 3″ drawer pull, 3″ down from the top of the drawer face and 5″ away from the drawer left edge on a 13″ wide drawer face. I used the left edge of the edge stop to align at the 5″ mark, not the mark to align a hole of the stop. See photo: Cabinet Hardware Jig (drawer). For doors, it is pretty much the same process, except the jig is rotated 90 degrees and applied to the edge of the stile. The edge stop is used to set the height of your pull up from the bottom rail or down from the top rail. Flip the jig over to do the opposing door, in doubles. In the Cabinet Hardware Jig (door) photo, I am set to install a 3″ door pull in the center of a 2″ stile (Limiter set at 1″) and 5″ from the bottom of the door. One note, as you can see in the Cabinet Hardware Jig (ctr limit) photo the closest you can get the movable limiter, when the pull’s upper drill hole is within the limiter’s length, is a little over a 1/4″. The last photo provides and unobscured view of the tightest setup. That setup means you’d be centering on a 1/2″ stile; most stiles are 2″ and up, so quite flexible to support any reasonable stile width.I repeat, I wish I had had this when I installed over 150 drawer pulls and door handles. Except for the two minor concerns in the fit and finish (which can easily be dealt with), I find no issues to prevent me from buying this jig. The fact that, to install a single pull on a drawer wider than 16″ or a door handle higher up the stile than 8″ by overlooking the alternative workaround, you’ll need a different jig, does detract a little but not enough for me to not use it where it works. There might be better, and more expensive, ones out there but for the price, you can’t beat it.
