I bought this to catch mice in our garage where we store our goats food. Works great, we put peanut butter as bait, and some food inside. We take the trap to the other side of our property and release the mice in the woods. Much more humane than typical mouse traps.

I am trying to trap chipmunks. I set it up as instructed but had problems with its design. I had to add a bit of weight to flap so I could put enough bait to attract chipmunks. Without extra counterweight the bait would flip the flap and drop into bucket. I checked it and found all the bait gone from inside the bucket and the flap. I speculated the chipmunk had fallen in bet jumped up, knocking the flap open and escaping. I installed wire mesh beneath the back half of the flap to prevent their escape. I finally caught one. Somehow they mostly still get all the bait without dropping into the bucket. Even with the counterweight I can only put so much bait in but can’t push it back too far. Tonight I saw other traps similar to this one but already have an anti-escape shield and a shelf to put the bait on so the flap won’t be tripped by the weight of the bait alone. I would like to return this trap for one with the shelf for bait and escape proof protection.I’m not able to trap Chipmunks live. They are falling into the bucket but immediately jumping back up, pulling the front of the flap and squeezing their way out. This cannot be used to catch multiple rodents because the bait falls in with them. You then have to put more bait. My experience with trying to catch chipmunks leads me to the conclusion that using this trap as is you might only catch them using the water method, which means you probably won’t be doing a live trapping.I have had to make considerable modifications to this trap and over several days I have trapped only 3 chipmunks. My advice is buy some other trap for live catching chipmunks.

Super happy that we are able to get rid of the mice taking over our hen house! At first we were disappointed because our bucket was empty the first few days…..we’ll after a week I remembered to check it again and oh my I was shock at how many mice have been hanging out in our hen house with our chickens.Read a lot of reviews and most of the complaints were about the ladder, we have not had any issues with it breaking. We did Crack the lid trying to assemble it but nothing a little gorilla glue couldn’t fix.

I dont know if a mouse could climb up this flimsy ramp let alone actually try. Why would a mouse go up a ramp that is bobbing up and down, seems like it would scare them off very quickly. The ramp’s clips force the ramp to an angle that doesnt allow the ramp to reach the ground, it just held it mid bucket height. The lid was in 85 degree weather in the sun for part of the day and the dropper to sagThe lid does attach to a 5 gallon bucket pretty well and should do its purpose if it is placed out of the sun and with a different way for the mice to reach it.

I followed suggestions from Reddit and filled 1/3 of my bucket with water, poured enough black oil sunflower seeds to cover the top (they float), and spread some peanut butter around the inside of the bucket. I was finally able to get rid of the field rats that kept building a nest in my car engine area.

Trapped 3 mice in 2 days. I like that it doesn’t kill them so I can relocate them to a field a mike away from the house

I bought this product to trap a mouse that was in my bedroom. The mouse fell for it right away and being the kind-hearted person I am I drove the mouse miles away from my house to the airport down the road from me two weeks later the mouse was back and had learned not to go back into the trap. 🤷🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️

The design is a good one. The product is made well and easy to install. Just put this in my barn so waiting to see how is works. That’s the reason I gave a 4 star rating. Will amend this once we start catching the critters !

Had to punch out a few holes to assemble, and arrived broken but hopefully it gets em🤷🏼♀️ I’ve caught them in bowls with a little oil before, (for catch and release) but the ones I have now are too big for the bowl so this should work.

As others here have said the trap is not very sturdy. That wasn’t a deal breaker for me if it actually catches some rats. Unfortunately despite lots of rats all around the trap, I’ve caught none of them. I baited the trap with peanut butter and birdseed but that hasn’t worked at all.

I was finally able to catch the mice with this item, once I did caught them I discovered why the other traps kept failing, the mice I caught where very small maybe weighing 1 or 2 grams. The weight was the reason why the traditional traps I used failed.

We tried different baits, different locations. Super cheap plastic. Caught zero mice
Tim –
Set it up and caught 4 in the first hour. Works great, price was great, could of been a little thicker plastic but does the job. Won’t be dissapointed.
mona kaye mcnemar –
Absolutely easy to set up and use. Worth the price for a humane mouse trap. We caught our little friend on the first try.

We are really impressed with this product! We tried it with peanut butter the first day and caught 1 mouse. The next day we added some dried corn and we were shocked to see 12 mice less than 24 hours later! This thing is the only way to catch a lot of mice quickly!
Jody Lee –
Set up was uncomplicated with enclosed directions and have caught 24 mice in 24 hours!! We are using peanut butter as bait and catching field mice by the dozen!

quite flimsy, and it diddnt work at all. Rats went around it even with cheese bait.

Decent quality , would not buy again however

The idea of this trap is really good. The actual trap is a pain in the butt to put together and flawed. The holes the plastic “house” or cover are too small for the walls to clip into. The top that looks like a rats face I just had to glue on because it wouldn’t clip into the holes. The holes are too small and slanted for the clips to fit in the holes. The weight is off with the actual piece that the rat stands on that dumps them in the bucket. A simple piece of cheese was too heavy and caused it to fall. The rats would get on the bucket lid to get my bait but didn’t go far before the floor started to fall so they could get off and not fall in. Returning this and making one myself.

The product is made with very flimsy material. Broke one of the bucket latch as I assemble the unit. The top flapping panel is too soft – it bends with very light force or weight. The mice will likely be scared off stepping onto the panel. After 2 days, no mice have been caught.

I have a camera aimed at the trap. Mice will not go onto the ramp because it does not sit flat. Buy the OE not this cheap knock off I bought a Rinne brand who invented this trap. Night vs day , this is a dollar store item in comparison. Sometimes saving a buck isnt saving at all…Avoid this one.

Word the title different. Would be better with a bucket.
Nick Rafiq –
I bought it for my mom and placed it in the garage. This didn’t catch even 1 rat or mice. All the bait was eaten off of it. Will not buy it again. Waste of time and money.
Emily –
Didn’t even work. Crap knock off

One of the tabs was broken, so no bueno.

Set it up as directed but no results

Mostly miss for me.
Waylon –
The little plastic piece the trap uses to pivot on broke immediately.

I really like the design of this WDBO Mouse Trap Bucket. It is novel and very practical. Unlike traditional glue or clip mouse traps, it is more humane and will not cause cruel harm to mice. At the same time, its lid can be automatically reset, which means it can catch multiple mice and is very efficient. Moreover, the package of this trap bucket also includes installation instructions, which is very thoughtful. In general, this is a very excellent mouse trap, and the products of the WDBO brand are worth buying!

I ordered this mousetrap lid because I already have one of these made by a different company at my other property and it worked, so I wanted another one for my garage. I didn’t want another one like the one I already have because I observed a mouse walking on that triangle swing and the mouse didn’t fall through. The conclusion was that he wasn’t heavy enough. That trap did however catch 4 mice at once, so I assume that first time they were all on the platform swing together so it tipped them into the bucket as intended. Then I caught a pretty big one which was an unusually large size. But I generally have very small field mice living in a rural area, and I need the small mice to get flipped inside one by one, so I’m trying this mousetrap lid by WDBO hoping it is more sensitive to balance and weight.I do think this one may be more sensitive in the balance of the swing platform. It seems like it moves easier than my other one. I made a video to show you the swing part. The best thing to do is to bait the steps with little dots of peanut butter in 4 places. Also bait the point of the triangle under the top with peanut butter to get the mice to crawl up and go on the platform all the way in to the point, and that will dump them into the bucket. You can do live catch and release, or fill your bucket with a good amount of water and be done with it. I tried it both ways, and from my few experiences, I found out the mice are cannibals, so I think that was worse than the water. (just so you know). As far as mouse traps go I think this is the best type. I hate sticky traps that are hard to deal with and catch beneficial bugs and lizards by mistake. Poison blocks and pellets are dangerous to other wildlife if the poisoned mouse dies outside and another critter like an owl eats it. This is a safe and easy way to deal with your mouse problem especially if you become over run like we did at our other property. I recommend this mousetrap lid! But, don’t forget it doesn’t come with a bucket. I bought my white bucket in the pictures at “Wallys World” for $4.28, so not a big expense. Good luck with your trapping!

I bought these, assembled them and never put them out in the garage where I planned on using them. Well, I spent the last few days cleaning the garage. I set up a bucket and put some peanut butter and sprinkled some bird seed on it too!! Today thought I’d check it today. There were 2 mice caught! They Work! Now, the key to these is putting your bait/peanut butter on the TOP of trap, above the black trip door. If you put the bait on the door it won’t sit flat and mice won’t walk on it!
MaV –
Pros:Many different items have similar designs. They all work.Cons:However, be aware that the weight of the bait may cause the trap to lean.Other thoughts:It works well; however, I am using very little bait as otherwise it can tilt the trap and make it obvious to the mice. Also, it is made out of plastic, which it works fine now, but I wonder how long it will last.

Easy to use, safe and clean. Recommande!
Brandy Brown –
Works great a little flimsy, but it doesn’t need to be too strong. It’s all about the bait m, use bacon grease, meat, leftovers, and cereal..
Larry Hoffman –
They work very well
Robbin Henderson –
It’s very easy to set up and works like a charm. I’ve had a persistent mouse problem in my house for weeks, but ever since I got this trap, I haven’t seen a single mouse. The design is smart and doesn’t cause any harm to my pets. Highly recommend it to anyone dealing with mouse issues.
