Reflectix is a 5/16-Inch thick, seven layer, reflective insulation which is available in rolls of various widths and lengths. It is used extensively in both specialty and standard construction projects. Two outer layers of aluminum foil reflect 97-Percent of radiant heat. Each layer of foil is bonded to a tough layer of polyethylene for strength. Two inner layers of insulating bubbles resist conductive heat flow, while a center layer of polyethylene gives Reflectix high reliability and strength.

Used this to insulate the garage for my dog. Not only has it kept it cooler this summer, but also dampens noise from thunder storms. Super easy to cut to size and use.

I’d seen this hack on tiktok to cover windows during the summer with this kinda stuff and got 2 rolls almost with double sided tape. It was easy to cut, measure and put up and it’s helped with the summer power bill soo much! Last August the bill was $850, having this up the bill was $530! Totally worth it! And it’s not too thick so I can still open and close the windows as needed.

Great for cabinets and windows in our Trailer. It really helps keep the heat off of food out of the cabinet air space. Works great behind the pull down curtains to keep heat from coming in the windows.

This works and is an inexpensive way to insulate the RV windows during the hot summer.

I love that this was enough to cover every window in my minivan, with a little extra. It was extremely easy to cut this to size for our windows and keeps our van noticably cooler. Definitely worth every penny.

We built our chicken coop out of a would-be shed kit. Thinking it was like a house, we put insulation in only to find the environment was very warm in summer, very cold in winter. The opposite of what I expected. I even took out much of the insulation after the first year and it made very little difference. Someone in one of my chicken groups mentioned this stuff, so I figured I’d give it a try. It didn’t have to be neat or pretty so the installation portion was pretty simple. I can tell a difference, tho, and that’s what I really needed. It stays cooler than it did when the temps hit 90 or more. Not sure about winter yet since it’s only been in there a month.I did use a little bit in the back room of an RV that has no shade. I can tell a difference in there. It used to be as soon as I walked in, even tho shades were drawn constantly when it’s parked, I would start sweating. Spending any amount of time in there meant walking out drenched. It’s not that way anymore and the only difference is I put some of this over the windows.I did look at different brands, because there are cheaper options to be found. What I realized and I think makes a difference is the plastic bubbles in the middle. It seems those are instrumental in helping this stuff do its job well. If you end up with just two pieces of foil with a flat plastic middle, it may not have the same effect. I don’t for sure since I didn’t try it, but something to consider.

I bought this to make a cover for both my chest freezer I use as a cold soak and my 8′ round stock tank pool. Used metal tape for the seams. The pool cover is the opposite of a solar cover — keeps my water from heating up more than a few degrees on a sunny day! Keeps the water refreshing how I like it. Some days I just fold back a section, get in to cool off, and get out and fold the section back in place. I ended up needing a second roll to finish the projects, so I may put some up in my south facing windows with velcro patches on really hot days….
