These are not the same Ticonderoga pencils I used when I was a kid. They used to be a high-quality pencil. I hadn’t used the brand in years and I was looking forward to using them again. They do not sharpen well, the lead breaks and the wood is rough–like feels like you might get a splinter rough. My daughter writes A LOT so I asked her opinion as well and the verdict was the same. Best Quality
I never put much thought into the quality of a pencil until I started using Ticonderoga. Suddenly, I’m comparing every pencil in my arsenal – which, as a teacher, is a pretty big thing. These pencils come pre-sharpened, which is always a plus in my book. They’re also very comfortable to hold, the graphite writes smoothly and the pencil erases all errors easily. Even my son has started looking to make sure he picks up the Ticonderoga pencils for his writing assignments. My “go to” pencil!

Good pencils
The pencils are pre-sharpened, they look like a standard pencil. They write nicely, and it gives off a nice black color. They are fairly comfortable to hold in hand, and seem to last a long time after many times of being sharpened. The only downside is the strange smell they had, it was a really weird smell. Love this brand!
My daughter had to have this brand of pencils when she was in kindergarten and I liked them at the time and i love them more now. She’s in the 4th grade now and i gave her these pencils to try and she loved them too. These were very sturdy and they sharpened the way they are supposed to and that was a good thing!! Great Pencil for Students

Excellent pencil choice!
I tried out these Ticonderoga pre-sharpened pencils and was so pleased with them! They have good quality graphite lead in them that writes with a bold line. They also have a soft pink eraser on top that erases completely and is the type preferred for school. I loved that the pencils, which are made with 100% American cedar wood, were easy to sharpen. The pencils were comfortable to hold and write with. Another bonus is that the wood for these pencils comes from sustainable forest management, meaning the 100+ year old company is working to help the environment. Good Quality
I have used these forever. They are the best non mechanical pencil that is made. They are strong and the lead does not break off. As you sharpen others, the lead continues to break off and you continue to sharpen more. This causes the pencil to be consumed faster and thus wasteful. These stand up longer. Great pencils!
My kiddos are homeschooled so I could see them using these pencils first hand for awhile and they are truly great writing utensils! The lead doesn’t break early and it erases nicely. The only thing I dislike about these pencils are the lead is extremely strong smelling. It gets to the point that my kiddos couldn’t use the pencils for a long period of time. Just like the package indicates “World’s Best Pencil”! Smooth writing experience, comfortable to hold, great eraser- no smudges, sharpens to a beautiful point. Quality pencils, lasts a long time
These pencils are worth every penny that you pay for them! They are so easy to sharpen and you don’t experience the “shortening” of the pencil as you sharpen it, as you do with so many others. One sharpen and the pencil is gone, but not with these! You don’t have to press hard, they naturally write “dark” without pressing hard. The erasers that are on the tops are one of the best, and don’t leave streaks or a residue after using. I’ve used these with my kids since they started writing with the big fat starter pencils and they still prefer these, as they have gotten older, over mechanicals. Daughter loves these!
My daughter was so excited when I handed a box of these pencils to her (the joys of being a 7 year old, haha). She absolutely loved that they were pre-sharpened! Best pencils EVER!
My kids(ages 16,12, and 10) all preferred mechanical pencils. Why? They said that the regular wood pencils they were used too would break or the the lead would fall out after sharpening. Great #2 Pencils!
We recently moved, and our son’s new school specifically asked for Ticonderoga pencils. I had heard of them, but hadn’t bought them because they do cost more. These are great! Very high quality pencil, made of cedar wood so they smell amazing. Easy to sharpen, they don’t constantly break while trying to get a point. Ticonderoga seems to be the teacher-preferred pencil brand. It’s not super easy to find cute ones – usually we end up with plain yellow ones, so this year my kids were excited to see these with such fun colors.
